OUMNH Lecture Series

Back in May of 2020, the Oxford Museum of Natural History (OUMNH) launched their bi-weekly free online lectures.

Called “First Animals”, it included a whole host of speakers talking about a wide range of topics from fossils, animals and Greenland. It was about this time that I was looking for a way to still use my sketchbook even during what would become the first of many national lockdowns.

These lectures provided artistic inspiration for me at a time when there were very few opportunities to draw outside of my garden.  It gave me a great way to explore my sketchbook practice and at the same time I got to hear about interesting topics - it was a win win! The lectures carried on throughout the year and I often found myself flipping back through my sketchbook pages just to see how much my work had progressed over a few months.

The current lecture series is "Visions of Nature" and I definitely recommend checking it out!
